This beautiful valley, where Highway 31A is winding it's way from New Denver to Kaslo is known as "Valley of the Ghosts". Most of the highway is built on the old CP railroad bed. Remnants of old mining sites and bridges that once spanned the Kaslo River can still be seen. Bear Lake, Fish Lake and beaver ponds with lush vegetation add to the roadside attractions.
